Privacy Ubuntu 11.4

I'm a newcomer to Linux and I've recently upgraded to Ubuntu 11.4
Can anyone of you suggest how to clear the list of recent files and folders?

Hello,

Read here - http://www.watchingthenet.com/ubuntu...documents.html

I gave you a link because it has instructions on how to gray the recent documents out so it is disabled in your menu. Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Josh

No, your not missing anything obvious as far as I can see.

That article is from 2008. 11.04 doesnt use ".recently-used.xbel", user actions are now logged by "gnome Zeitgeist". I'd be temped to just remove zeitgeist, who wants (or needs) some stupid spyware file collecting all your actions? Its crap like that that made me distrust microsoft..

Anyway, some directions for how to clear the recent documents in 11.04 are found here-

Run the live cd and just don't mount and driver read/write.
