privacy issues

i am using mandrake 10 community, where are the temperory internet files stored? i know one place, which is /home/username/tmp , but r there any other places? lets just say i need to get rid of some evidence if you know what i mean...

also, i was wondering if there is a program on linux similar to Evidence Eliminator on windows. what Evidence Eliminator basically does is securely erase all the deleted data on your computer by putting hex values of 0 and 1. is there a similar program on linux?
