Printing with Scribus
In Scribus I am unable to print in Landscape. Whatever I do Scribus remains in Portrait. Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone the solution to this problem.

Are you able to print anything else as landscape (i.e. from other programs)? If not, then it's probably a printer driver issue (CUPS, Foomatic, etc). If so, make sure that you have a landscape-oriented project (i.e. Scribus's page layout is in landscape). You can change that in File->Document Setup.
Best of luck

Thank you for replying, however not the answer to my problem. My printer works. Scribus prints alright in Portrait. When printing a Landscape document, set for Landscape, Scribus stays in portrait mode so the document is printed in the middle of the page with half off the page.

I see. This is probably a CUPS problem, but easily fixable.
When you go to print the page, click the "Options" button next to the printer you wish to print to in order to bring up the printer-specific options. Toward the bottom of the printer options dialog, there should be a field for page orientation. It is probably set to portrait on your system--setting it to landscape and then printing should solve this problem.
However, this is is system-wide setting--if left on landscape, EVERYTHING will print landscape from now on. Before quitting Scribus, make sure to set it back to portrait (this can be done from any program with a similar print page, however).
Best of luck

Hi! Many thanks for your response, however I have tried this and everything else that I can find in Scribus, and it simply soes not work for me in Scribus. Printing elsewhere - Open Office Org, Pdf etc.- all work fine. Only Scribus has the problem. I am using Mepis 6.5. Yesterday I loaded up Debian 4.0 and there Scribus just printed solid black in portrait and landscape. I have managed in the past to get intermittent lanscape printing in Scribus, but not now. I placed the thread to see if anyone else had this problem with Scribus. However I appreciate your kind response.
