Printing with Draytek Vigor 2600G

Newbie using Mandrake Linux 10.1 download edition. Unable to print with HP 940C via printer port of my Vigor 2600G router. Works fine under Win XP. Have also tried Suse 9.2 Live. Does not appear to detect printer whatever options or modes I choose. Draytek suggest LPR printing? I am able to print without problem if I connect directly to my computer via a USB port, but it is essential I can print from the router!!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well it sounds quite simple, you need to configure cups to print via a LPD port.

You need the IP adress of the router and the Queue name (p1)

Thank you for your advice. I was able to print from my router using Suse 9.2 (live version) using the following selections ;-

Printer type - Other kind of setup

Other printer (set URI)

lpd://192.168.1.1/p1

selected "do local filtering"

selected my printer from the list

All test pages worked perfectly
