Printing problem on line printer in Linux 8.0

Hello friend's I am using Linux 8.0 in my IBM e-server. My line printer was working few days before but now i am not able to take print.

My printer is not detected but previousley it was detected.I has changed cable . But it is detected in windows PC.

when restarted the lpd service it is not working.

When i used LPQ command it says the following error.

status :no identifier for 'hfA976' action aborted.

Hive me a immetiate solution for this problem becaz it is very urgent.

Linux 8.0? Which distribution are you using? Kernel versions only go up to 2.6.

What changes have you made to the system recently? New kernel? Upgrade printing tools?
