Can anyone help with a printing problem in suse 8.2.
Printer is canon bjc1000 with black cartridge.
test print in Yast is ok but in Open office, koffic etc it it prints
grey background with darker grey text. Have set bkgrd colour to white etc but no joy. Using k6 cpu and have 288Mb Ram.
any help would be much appreciated.
Which version of OpenOffice are you using? There was a version (1.0.3) shipped with a small bug. They have released a patch to fix the printing issue. If you have any other version I don't know, once I have never ever been able to use my printer (HD Deskjet 500) under Linux, nor either anyone seems how to use it . here is the link to the patch:
Thanks for your prompt reply. I have version 1.0.2, but the
problem applies in koffice, emacs or any other source, so seems to be something to do with printer itself I guess.
