Printers configuration on TCP/Ip port

I have Fedora FC3 and would like to use a Printer located in the network. Under Windows the (working) configuration was the following: Local Printer under new port (tcp/ip) + ip printerīs address. I donīt understand why but it wasnīt configured as a network Printer even though i had to use the port tcp/ip, but it was configured as local.

Under Fedora I tried to configure with setup (I do not have any graphical interface) choosing usersīdefinied option and then writing the ip-address. But it didnīt work. Any idea how i could make it work?

If i manage to write the right configuration, what should i write in my iptables? Right now is output policy accept, is it enough?

Thanks

dunno about doing that with CLI.

I always just installed cups, foomatic and hpijs (yes both my printers are by HP). The inkjet is easy as it's connected via parallel, the laser is networked. So I just fire up cups and "install" a new printer - when it asks about the connection I just select the "network via TCP/IP" option and then tell it the IP address - select the model/make and then select the driver for it so that it's using the hpijs and run a test print.

regards

John

But I do not have any graphical interface. How can I do this through the consol, with setup for example?
