Unhappy Printer woes

Hello again!

I'm having trouble with my printer, a Canon S300. Last week, it was printing fine if I sent something to it via lpr. Now, it doesn't print anything, and the print queue claims that the printer is "not ready". I tried going into Ghostview to print from there, but that didn't work either. I don't think I changed anything between last week and this week! I did try to get my modem to work, which also says, "not responding". Could that have affected (infected) my printer somehow?

Well, I didn't even get that far. How did you get it to work in the first place?

If I knew, I would tell you. When I installed Linux, I used the default installation, and then the printer worked.
