Unhappy Printer/Scanner DCP=7060 unable to get scanner going

I have tried to get the scanner on my DCP-7060D Brother printer to work using what directions have been given by Brothers. Have others had this problem? Did you finally resolve it?

The first thing to usually do is look for a driver. If you're using Ubuntu, you can get a deb package here: http://support.brother.com/g/b/downl...d=dcp7060d_all

All the best

scanner

Thanks for the suggestion but Brother help has not been able to get my scanner going. The printer is working and all scanner drivers are in my downloads.

Hey there,

I need a clarification here. What do you mean by "all scanner drivers are in my downloads"?

Try to install your drivers using this link. Note do not use the instructions from the Brother site, use the instructions from the link. (this is assuming you are using ubuntu.)

https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/15

Edit; I have never had success using the instructions from the Brother site.
The instructions in the link worked for me with ubuntu, lubuntu and Linux Mint.

scanner

Thanks I will do that. What I meant was that all the drivers that were supposed to be needed for my printer were in my download file. such as dcp7060dlpr-2.1.0-1 and brscan-skey-0.2.4-1.amd64.deb .
The printer driver given by Brother was used by Mint with no problem.
Again I will try you idea and see how it works.
Glen
