Printer not working, waiting for lp to become ready (offline ?)
OK, I have a printer connected to my parallel port. I am running a stripped-down old linux installation, kernel 2.0.0.
In my printcap file, I have tried the following to no avail:
lp:lp=/dev/lp0:sd=/usr/spool/lp0:sh
lp:lp=/dev/lp1:sd=/usr/spool/lp1:sh
lp:lp=/dev/par0:sd=/usr/spool/par0:sh
For each of these after I submit a job using lpr to the printer, the print jobs show up in the queue but performing an lpc status lp give me:
lp:
queuing is enabled
printing is enabled
1 entry in spool area
waiting for lp to become ready (offline ?)
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this printer working?
