Printer installation

Running Zorin 16 Core. Successfully installed Photoscape. Wanted to test it, but says no printer installed. I am able to print documents. Confused. What am I missing. Thanks.

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.org. More information is needed for others to advise further.

1. Printer make/model
2. How is it connected? (USB or network)
3. What steps did you take to tray and configure CUPS for your printer?

Depending on the printer being configured, it may be necessary to download and install the appropriate driver. More specific advice can be given when we have the requisite details.

These commands will provide printer status, and which driver is in use...
Code:
lpstat -t
Code:
sudo egrep -i "name|model|filter" /etc/cups/ppd/*

Since you can print documents, and Photoscape has no printer listed, makes me think there is some group or permission that did not get set when Photscape was installed.

Doing some googling while drinking it seems Photoscape is a snap, ugg. F'ing snaps.

So the issue would be snap is not allowing the app to see the printer, because it's a f'ing snap.

From the above link they recommend the following command, edited for your use. But that link is 4 years old so not sure if snaps still work this way. f'ing snaps
Code:
sudo snap connect photoscape:cups-control :cups-control
