Printer Error - "insufficient file space"

I work in a small office that runs 6 Windows 2000 workstations with a RedHat server ( believe it is RedHat 6.0 - it was installed in 2000, I think). We share one printer. The way the printer is set up is that each workstation prints to the server's printer queue, and the jobs are spooled through the server to an HP Lasterjet 2200 (which is local to the printer).

Yesterday users started getting standard "error printing to HP Laserjet 2200 - retry or cancel?" error messages. It appears that no data is being sent to the printer from any workstation. When I logged into the Print System Manager and tried to print test pages, there was no problem printing an ASCII test page directly to the port. HOWEVER, attempting to print either an ASCII or PostScript test page resulted in the following error message: "lp: insufficient file space."

I am a paralegal moonlighting (!) as a system admin here - this was not part of my job description when I started! I've contacted our occasional server maintenance company and am waiting for a call back from them but in the meantime does anyone have any tips about what I could try next? To my knowledge, no changes have recently been made to the system.

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer!
