printer compatability

Need to know if any of the following printers will work with Puppy Linux. Brother laser HL 1240, HP Ohotosmart 8000, Canon Pixma iP170 or HP 1012.
If so PLEASE let me know where and how to download the driver.
Yes I am new to this forum but used Suse 9.2 Professional quite a bit in the past, just don't need anything that intense.
THANKS themtnman@toast.net

Welcome to LQ

I'm not sure if Puppy Linux comes with CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System) by default, (I would think it would) open a web browser and type /questions/localhost:631 and this will bring up the cups interface. If it comes up you can set up your printer from here, the only printer I didn't see listed was the Cannon Pixma iP170 the others should be fine though.

Hope that helps!

CUPS is included, Puppy 4.31 .

But almost no drivers.

Example HP : 3 x Laser , 2 x "Jet Direct".
Total five for HP. 600+ in other Linux's.
Best support = HP, but the HPLIB is required.
