Printer Canon BJ-200 doesn´t work under any Distributuin. W H Y ??? :-((

Hi guys,

i have a Canon BJ-200 and none of my Distributions (SuSE 8.0/8.1 Mandrake 9.1 Debian/Knoppix 3.1) are able to recognize it and when they show me the list of possible drivers well there is one for my printer but if i select it (gostscript-driver for BJ-200) it does not work. The parallel port is quiet right, because SuSE is testing that port by sending "Hallo World" to the printer and that is the only thing which is functioning great, after that the printer says nothing and when i try another driver it may prints some kind of junk.

Can anybody help me, i tried the canon website but "of course" they have only drivers for Windows X.XX

Thanks
Odan

Hi

I dont have or know this type of canon, but you can
pay a visit here;
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_pr...m=Canon-BJ-200

And one thing i always do to improve printing things on a
epson/hp/canon printer ; use the 'free' turboprint drivers.
You can buy them, but the free thing usual works well enough.
http://www.turboprint.de
site seems down at this time, they are in english also

enjoy
