Previewing text in a graphical mail client.

Hi:
I have just typed, using a GUI mail client (or the graphical front end of a mail client) the text of a letter and am about to send it. Before I do so, I'd like to see how the letter will look to the recipient. But I can't find anything similar to a 'Preview' button.

The client I use is Thunderbird. What do users of mail clients (graphical) do in a similar situation? I mean "to preview", when writing. Form among all mail clients, many must share the same features.

Your version of Thunderbird (2.0.0.4) seems wildly out of date. If you install the latest version (5.0) then maybe you'll find the feature you require.

I'm afraid this will require a newer version of the DE. And I have 256MB RAM plus 750MHz Celeron, which makes that rather difficult, I think. Adio,

EDIT: DE = Xfce 4.4.1

In that case, maybe checking on what email clients come with "minimalist" linux distros such as Puppy Linux or Damn Small Linux may be useful. I think those distros should run on your setup, no?

I hope so. I a matter of reading the system requirements. On the other hand, may be the Mozilla site has an Archive section, where I could find versions intermediate between that presently in my machine and the current one. Right now I am trying to switch from Mozilla Thunderbird to the SeaMonkey mail client which, besides, I think has the virtue of being a light weight program. Thanks for your feedback. Adio,

As for what it's going to look like: that will widely depend
on the recipients mail-client; you really shouldn't spend too
much time on wondering, or, if the look is very important, put
the e-Mail inside a PDF.

That opened my eyes. I new it had, in some measure, to depend on the recipient's client. But I was unconsciously assimilating the scenario to that in LQ! Thanks a lot.
