Prevent NIS users from seeing passwd

Is there a way to disable users from see the NIS passwd file? ie., disable them from running:
#ypcat passwd

The problem I have is some users have their own linux machines with root access and I assume they can simply create a local user account with the same credentials (UID & GID) as on the NIS environment and breach directories.

ypserv.conf In this file you can set certain options for the NIS server, and you can deny or restrict access to certain maps based on the originating host.

See ypserv.conf(5) for a description of the syntax
