ppp0 activation problem
Dear friends,
I have RHEL-5 on my system and configured the ppp0 connection, i.e. ADSL
connection. I could connect to the internet also. But, at times, the system is unable to connect to the internet. I narrate the problem hereunder.
Under CLI:
# /sbin/ifup ppp0: /sbin/adsl-start: line 214: 3590
Terminated $CONNECT "$@" >/dev/null 2>&1
# /sbin/ifup ppp0: /sbin/adsl-start: line 214: 3885
Terminated $CONNECT "$@" >/dev/null 2>&1
Under GUI, i.e. on running system-control-network
/sbin/adsl-start: line 214: 4231 Terminated $CONNECT "$@" >/dev/null 2>&1
/sbin/adsl-start: line 214: 4626 Terminated $CONNECT "$@" >/dev/null 2>&1
The above problem is not always encountered but sometimes. In such a situation, even if I try ten times to activate the connection, the messages as narrated above are spit out. The only solution I found was to shut down the system and start the system once again. Even then, sometimes, the connection does not get activated. Can anybody help me to overcome the problem? My hardware is latest with 1 GB of RAM.

P.S. I encountered a similar problem in Fedora Core 7 also sometimes.
