PPP: modem not fount
 

Hi,,

I need your help. I'm using Red Hat 7.1 now.

My problem is my OS don't detect my modem. I try to debug using
netcfg but it said cannunable to initialize modem.

then i try this command
/usr/bin/wvdialconf create

but it said "sorry, no modem was detected"...

what should I do...

need more info.... what kind of modem is it? If it's a winmodem, check www/linmodems.org for more info.

To get my winmodem worknig i need to create a new /dev/modem device pointing to the /dev/ttyLT0 device that the LT winmodem driver created.

My laptop is modem built-in, i think... but while using windows 98 i ve no problem with my modem....

and my desktop, i use pci modem,, also linux not detect my modem...same problem...

i use modemtool to set the port base on windows port then point to /dev/ttyS0...

i dont know whether these modems supported by linux or not...
