ppp exits at last moment

Hey...I have been trying to connect to the internet on Mandrake 8.0, and I have a USRobotics 56k modem (internal). I used KPPP and set up an account (My ISP is MSN). I tried to log on, and the modem was dialing and had reached through. At the last second, kppp died unexpectantly with erorr code 19. I looked this up and it said that this means it couldn't complete the authentication process. What should I do to log on? All advice is welcome.

play with the values for authentication:
pap vs. chap
maybe username/password wrong?

for my ISP for instance people using the
the winDOHs connection thingy only need
to supply their username, whereas I have to
put username@domain.what

HIH

Cheers,
Tink

msn isp connection

well i have finally logged on to msn from linux. i was haveing the same problem, getting a pppd daemon died unexpectedly exit status: 19 error. i thought that the problem was with the authentication since the log said that CHAP authentication failed. i set up kppd using a login script as described in the connecting to MSN as an ISP post. i tried it many, many times using different variations. finally, i change the username i used to log in to a username@msn.com account, not the username@hotmail.com account i was using. so, if i am correct, it is expecting you to log in with an id of MSN/username(@msn.com not included).
hope this will help you out.
