PowerVR Kyro drivers

I have a PowerVR Hercules 4000XT Kyro (2001) in my computer on gentoo, and a lot of things are extremely slow probably because I don't have a proper driver, I have a 2.6 kernel so I cannot compile the drivers for my card as they only made them for 2.4 then gave up, I'm using kernel-2.6.31.5 and I have my partitions as ext4 so I cannot downgrade to 2.4

Does anybody know where I can find a working driver for it?
