postfix configuration issue

Hello everybody

New to Postfix and having issues configuring.

As of now I have Mandrake9.2 and Apache, hosting 2 domains…for example: and both domains work. Using 1 IP in a name based configuration. DNS is by

Under “Internet host and domain names” section
#myhostname = host.domain.tld
#myhostname = virtual.domain.tld
myhostname =, ßis this correct..
- some of the doc. Have mail.domain .com and others have
- does it matter whats in front of ??? significance does it have.
- My linux box hostname is “voyager”(if you typed hostname at bash). Does this play a part in this configuration?

#mydomain = domain.tld
mydomain =, ßI’m assuming this is correct since its asking for domain name(s)?

“send mail” section
not a whole lot in this section but it has the following:
#myorigin = $myhostname
-confused, is this part going back to the top section and using myhostname as described above?
