Port the (only) libthread.so (mipsel)

It is possible to port the (only) libthread.so from the glibc 2.xx (with mipsel cross-compiler) or do I carry the whole glibc.
I need the nptl library on my mips(el) target

I'm not sure how much of nptl depends on the rest of glibc or the kernel.
Another question would be, why do you think you need nptl ?
