I'm setting up a PBX (free PBX) phone system that uses a Linux OS. I converted a work station into a phone server. I believe I'm using Red Hat 4.4.7-17, SHMZ release 6.6
I'm a very new user and this is all I will use this server for.
I'm getting a message hub 5-0:1.0: port 1 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling.
Distribution: Currently: OpenMandriva. Previously: openSUSE, PCLinuxOS, CentOS, among others over the years.

This is repeated multiple times.
Yes I have also seen this message on my box as well. But I'm not having any hardware issues as far as I know, are you having any problems related to USB?
I have only a keyboard and mouse plugged in, I tried unplugging them, still got the message. it's not consistent and I'm rarely using the terminal. I mostly remote in from a work station. this machine was a previous windows work station with no problems.
So it turns out, either my keyboard or mouse has bad shielding, that's what what was causing it to disconnect. I substituted a wireless keyboard and mouse, problem solved.
