I am currently using suse 8.0(its great) on a fairly old machine and i want to migrate a server composition of apache 1.3 - mysql - php -perl to another older machine to ugrade the software on my current machine.

I am in the midst of trying to install debian with much trial and error.

All I want is the unit to be a server for info websites - can anyone make suggestions for platform preference for this sort of configuration?

Also could someone please suggest a place to look for computer model specs so I know what version of linux I should be installing for the older hardware that I have.
