OK, go a smartphone/pda device, which unfortunatley uses windows pocket pc OS. It came with a usb cradle which is also a charger, how can I make the device see my gentoo install and/or vice versa?

I hoped to be able to transfer mp3's as my dual boot XP install can't see any of the logical partitions that my gentoo install live on, or the logical fat32 partition that my mp3's live on?

I think that samba comes into the equation somewhere so I'm just doing the "emerge" of that now.

What else do i need to do

p.s. monkey see, monkey do explainations/instruction would be good as this is the first time I've looked into linux/windows sharing and stuff like that ???

p.p.s Erm, also just realised that this may have been better posted in the laptop/mobile forum - though I automatically posted here as I know "bog all" about samba and shares etc - If one of the mods thinks it's better place in laptop/mobile could you please move it?? Thanks!
