Plzz Help me..i have no idea wat to do!!!!

i have a problem, im using a laptop in which i have dual boot 1: Open suse 11.1 and another with Windows XP..my booting is through suse bootloader and recently after printing when i restart my pc it went blank( colourfull dotts) and i have to restart again but then i receive this error: GNU GRUB version 0.97(639k Lower/514940K upper memory) [Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported For the first world, TAB lists possible command completions.Anywhere else TAB lists the possible completions of a device/filename] grub> After This error i dnt know wat to do,how to load into my windows coz i have very very important document inside and formating is not a sollution for me... Thank you, Ps:Im really a baby in linux..i dnt know a single thing bout it.. |
Would you please try and search the forum - or the net - for posts which mention how to deal with "grub" problems or setting it up?
Grub _is_ the bootloader and it appears to be misconfigured. If you are not successful then please use a better description for your next post - mentioning booting and grub. All the best! |
windows found but cant login to suse 11.1..plz help

Anywhere else TAB lists the possible completions of a device/filename. ] grub> and i finally manage to login to windows with the help of these methods: Use ‘rootnoverify’ command for setting the correct root device. this command don’t attempt to mount that partition. Step(1) Set GRUB’s root device to the partition - grub> rootnoverify (hd0,0) grub> makeactive grub> chainloader +1 grub> boot and i finally manage to acess my windows but there is another problem.. My suse 11.1 cant be loaded in other words, i cant c my bootloader asking me which OS i wanna boot( i.e. Bootloader list) and it straight away login to windows...i want my bootloader to be restored..Plz help me.. |
