plugins for xmms to Xchat

Hi all,

After having got the sound configured, I was wondering if there were any plugins or script to announce the title of the song from xmms to xchat. After much googling, and trying to configure things which had "xmms" and "xchat" in them unsuccessfully, I would appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks, was able get another one off the official xchat website- although with some problems when it gave off an error message- something to do with python-

SO far its been a week since I've started using linux and I think I am ready to fully convert. Only problem is without knowing how scripts, C and the rest of nerd-lingo (excuse the pun ) I dont know whether I should go on updating.

Thanks for your reply anyway

I think you wont need much because most of the plugins should be installed for this plugin. Just make sure you open the .pl file, copy the command given in it (read the first few lines to find it), and paste it into the "command to execute" in the songchange plugin in your xmms preferences (I think its in general).

Now come back and type "/playing" in the channel to announce.

I've managed to get to play it - now the only problem is I am getting a funny character ("¬") at the end of each variable. Perhaps this has got nothing to do with the plugin at all. can someone offer an exlanation?

"#02 Various Artists - M1 - Project 2501 - The Real Image Collection Of Ghost In The Shell¬ 5:56, 44100¬ Hertz, 2¬ channels, 128 kbps"

Thanksin advance
