Plug in needed?
 

Not sure if this is correct place, if not I apoligise.

Have just upgraded to 12.10 Xubuntu, and as I had UMPlayer in previous version, have loaded same. However, now find will not play video, is there a need for some form of plug in, seem to have a lot showing in Firefox.

Also, being the idiot I am, have also down loaded all my music to a memory stick and cannot transfer same to the file manager.

As you will have gathered, not very bright where some thing are concerned, any help would be much appreciated.

(Before you state obvious, I do not like VLC, and Mplayer, to my mind is not as good as UMPlayer)

Use sudo apt-get if you think you need a plugin.

No. Ubuntu is good at promiscuous mounting of pen drive. You might have misconfigured something in there unknowingly.

Thank you, sat down and redid the transfer of music and this time got it all on Xubuntu 11.10.

However, as you will have guessed idiot where lot of Linux is involved, and obviously did not make myself clear.

I need to know, if I need plug in for UMPlayer, (when I try to view You Tube, nothing happens), and no notice or warning is given, so I have no way of knowing what, if any, plug ins are required.

Yes know I'm a pain, but this is best way I know to get knowledge I need.

Help is much appreciated.
