Unhappy please help with modem


I FINALLY got windows XP to work with mandrake 9.1 on vmware! I run vmware on winXP and run mandrake 9.1 from that.. so i have mandrake running on my windows desktop.

I can get online with winXP but mandrake doesnt know im connected to the internet..=(..is there anyway i can make mandrake realize im connected to the net on vmware? I have a 56k lucent win modem.

please respond it would help me out a lot not many people know much about VMware....Thank you
