please help me with system startup from Linux DVD

Again my friends I am having trouble,
Have Toshiba Tecra 64-bit 500gb disk 4gb ram running Windows 7 professional it has Intel core i5 processor.
I burned iso file of DVD LinuxMint Rebecca Cinnamon to DVD.
When I restart the system with the DVD inserted it immediately opens in Windows 7.
Then I pressed F1 to change the boot order to USB ODD.
Then I re-started several times to no avail.
When I press F1 to select the boot device it only gives me the Windows 7 option.
I know the disk is good because I checked the files it should contain and they are there.
Help from anyone is greatly appreciated.
Best regards to all of you.

HOW did you burn the dvd ?

to check
with windows running pop in the dvd
is it ONE file ONLY with a iso as the file extension

or

is it MANY files

if one file only

you did NOT burn the iso image "AS A IMAGE " but as a data dvd

in the bios set the dvd drive as THE FIRST!!!! thing to boot from
why that would NOT be the default ????? ( ask Microsoft )
how else IS ONE to fix a broken Operating system if it is not

PLEASE DO NOT DOUBLE POST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND READ YOUR OTHER THREAD ON THIS
THE POST ABOVE SHOULD BE ON THAT OTHER ONE

PLEASE ONLY POST IN THE MOST RELEVANT SECTION

THIS WAY YOU DO NOT HAVE TWO THINGS ON THE SAME TOPIC GOING AT THE SAME TIME

will try to eliminate duplicate thread

Thank you John VV for your two replies.
As for double-posting you are absolutely correct and I do apologize for letting my desperation for an answer make me assume that my first thread was not accepted and sending a second one. However, sometime ago in a previous thread I asked the members of this forum to help me with the installation of Linux Mint and they pointed out that I may have erroneously burned the image on a DVD having simply copied it instead of burning the image itself. So today, using Infrarecorder, as recommended in the Linux Mint manual, I burned an image onto a DVD showing files like "casper" and "isolinux". Now I have the (Microsoft) problem of having the operating system boot from the DVD upon startup. I am hoping someone with Windows 7 professional solved this problem and could share his/her experience with me. Also, I will try to eliminate the thread with two responses so as not to be redundant.
Again, thanks for taking the time to ponder on my problem,
Best regards,
R.H.

You should see a message immediately after booting on screen telling you which key you need to press to "enter setup". See the Toshiba support page below for several options. If you can make the change in boot priority, make sure you save the changes before continuing to boot.

Thank you Jancek for your help. It worked very well and I got it to boot from the DVD. I hope it is smooth sailing from now on. Best regards.
