Please help me with Mandrake8.1

Ive setted up Mandrake 8.1, on my laptop but then at the end installation it stopped. Then i upgraded it. And In bootin menu i have linux linux_old, windows_old and other shit How I can set up Loadin menu ? And what is it GRUB or what ?

loadlin doesn't have a menu, it's a commend dos program. I presume you mean lilo. in which case you need to edit /etc/lilo.conf and then run 'lilo' from a console.

I edited lilo.conf and grub's config, but anyway I have 7 in my menu.

I dont know what loader do that...

Anyway thanx.

So. I am talkin about Blue screen with "Welcome to mandrake" Message. How can I edit it (menu)? I changed lilo.conf in /etc/
it was first that ive done.

The blue 'Welcome to Mandrake' menu is Lilo. You may have edited your lilo.conf file, but did you run lilo? With grub you only have to edit the file to effect the changes, but with Lilo you need to actually run it.

Once you've edited your /etc/lilo.conf file you need to type lilo. If the syntax of your lilo.conf file is good then you'll see:

Linux
Windows*
Floppy

or something.
