Hi, I am also a newbie to Linux, and have just gotten a dual boot set up with Kali on my Macbook Pro Retina (Late 2013). I just recently have been facing the same Issue with the same chip. It is a BCM43XX 14e4:43a0 I have no wifi, but I am able to use ethernet. However, I would really like to get wifi working properly. allend, I followed your instructions, and my terminal ouputted the following:

Or, you can order a new Intel or Atheros wireless card that will JUST WORK out of the box. The kernel comes with the needed wifi drivers for these. You can get one for like 30 bucks on amazon.

Yeah, but seeing as I am abroad, I can't order anything, and have to get my internal card working.

I would install mint 17 or debian 8 and the card might " just work"

kali is not a good choice for a "new to linux" user
it has one and really only ONE purpose

to break into computer networks ( SECRETLY!! ) and leave no trace

Seeing as I am studying network security, and necessitate the use of this software, Debian or Mint won't do the job. Everyone must learn at some point, so now I am learning how to use Kali. Now if anyone has any suggestions on how to get my WiFi card working that would be awesome! Thanks!

As the error message says, you don't have the kernel sources installed. Just do that and try again, but keep in mind what was said in post #77, the package you installed is not patched to work with kernel 3.18, exactly the kernel Kali uses, so you might still not be able to use that driver.

You need the kernel headers package to compile against the kernel. A custom kernel built from sources satisfies the need as well. As long as you're booted into that kernel when you try to do the compile that depends on it.

Another option is to use another distro that just works and chroot into the kali installation. I'm a bit nervous around distros like kali and don't really want to boot them myself. So chroot is a nice option that lets you keep the distro that you "like" with the tools that you're familiar with, while using another distro to do or test "stuff". I remember having to do this type of thing for the 5+ years that it took to get a 64 bit browser plugin for java.

Ok, so I don't really know how to compile a kernel headers package against a kernel, but I got a precompiled package from http://mirror.linux.org.au/debian/po.../broadcom-sta/ I used the broadcom-sta-dkms_6.30.223.248-3_all.deb package And It outputted that error.

Debian and Kali Linux are not comapitble, by installing Debian packages into a Kali system (when the installation even works) you can break your system. You don't need to compile a kernel-headers package, Kali should have one in the repository already. But this will still not fix the problem that the package will not work with kernel 3.18.
