Please help, dhcpcd!

I've got an ADSL-connection to the internet, and therefore I need to get the dhcpcd to work. I got it to write a logfile for the errors, and this seems to be the error I get.

localhost dhcpcd[1116]:dhcpstart:ioctl STOCGIFHWADDR: no such device

What does this mean, and what do I have to do in order to get it working?

In RedHat 7.2 the installer automatically configured it all for me. Maybe you didn't select Use DHCP. Then autoconig.

Also, make sure that your ethernet is enabled and working. In mandrake I could be more help, sorry.

I'm using RH 7.3, and during the installation process it never asks for DHCP as it does in 7.2. That's the reason I'm having this problem, now I need some help to solve it

Two clarifications:
1) adsl-connect is for PPPoE
2) DHCP is completely different protocol for obtaining IP information.
So first make clear for yourself which method applies to you - contact your ISP if you are in doubt.
