Prabuddha:

I can hardly figure out what your problem is, it is very difficult to ascertain the problem from your language.

If that's the case something is wrong from your installation, maybe you have made some errors. Check the md5sum of your installer disk, then reinstall the RHEL. Reformat first your partition that hosts it.

Hope this helps.

Goodluck.

Okay. Where does the server stop when you try to start the server? Hardware problem maybe? Problem in the boot loader? Are there any file system errors?

Respectively according to you questions

1.After I log to the system(Gui mode) and when try to open any application, even open a folder it will go to reboot and stoped.

2.Server Indicate Exclamation mark (I Guessed as H/W Issue)

3.This was ruing server and i don't think so.

What will be the possible actions to take of if the issue in the category of 1 or 2

How can I check the file system errors ?

Thanks for your comments my friend.

What do you mean? Does the machine actually reboot or does it just return to text mode and it shows the login prompt? If it is just the X server that crashes, check the file /var/log/Xorg.0.log and look for lines with WW and EE (that mean warning and error respectively).

I checked the Xorg.0.log there are only 2 warning and no errors.

again and again I tested this issue , now it's not reboot, but server remain shows Exclamation Mark(!) normally it's indicating once a H/W ISSUE isn't it?

I really don't know. At which point do you see an exclamation mark? Let's say the server reboot, the GRUB menu shows up and then...?

farslayer 06-12-2009 08:22 AM

Is the exclamation mark on the Server itself like an indicator light or LCD screen ?

I wonder

Automatic server restart to help reduce downtime by restarting the server in the event of system hang
Only happens in GUI
ATI video card..
System hangs and then automatically reboots as designed to recover..

What video driver module are you using ?

And what version of RHEL are you running ? 3, 4, 5 ?

And on that note...since you're using IBM hardware with RHEL, you are in a totally supported configuration. You should be able to contact IBM AND RedHat for support, since you're paying for it.

Ok, you're still not really answering the question, but I'll again suggest you contact either IBM or RedHat.

Since you say "on the server itself", I'll assume you mean "on the diagnostic panel display, attached to the server, as farslayer asked earlier". If that's the case, you've got broken hardware...put in a service call to IBM.
