Unhappy please help


just got my linux mint 32+64 bit combo disk
the computer i am putting it on had troubles with the boot sector on its hard drive so i reformatted it and am trying to put linux on it
i put the disk in and turned on the computer and its still just wanting to run some form of DOS

Welcome to LQ.
Did you set the "boot order" in the BIOS?
You may have to add the CD to the list commonly known as "boot order" or "boot devices"

You may want to think about shrinking your Windows 7 partition before installing Linux Mint.

Before I installed Fedora I had to shrink my Windows 7 partition because the Fedora Installation CD
told me that there wasn't enough room on the HDD. Not those exact words but close-
