Please Help!

For reference:

File I need to install: SteamInstall_CS.exe
CD-Rom Dir: /mnt/cdrom
WineX Dir: /home/neal/.cvswinex

How do I install Steam? I tried typing (in the cdrom dir) "wine SteamInstall_CS.exe" but it gave me this message:

[root@x1-6-00-50-8d-f7-b9-3c cdrom]# cvswinex SteamInstall_CS.exe
wine: chdir to /root/.wine/wineserver-x1-6-00-50-8d-f7-b9-3c : No such file or directory

What do I have to type (please use exact syntax as I'm new to this) to install Steam and then what do I have to type to run Steam?

Thanks again,

Shot in the dark - you need to run wine-config (or wineconfig). If it doesn't exist, perhaps find the settings file, I think it is in the ~/.wine/ directory somewhere.

If all else fails: man wine
google it
return here

As an after thought - could it be that you need to run it as a user (with permissions to access cdrom etc.) instead of root? You said /home/neal at the top, but the error says /root.
