As far as wxpython is concerned Iīm not quite sure. What Iīve got is the following:
Code:
ii python-wxtools 3.0.2.0+dfsg-1build1 all Tools from the wxPython distribution
ii python-wxversion 3.0.2.0+dfsg-1build1 all API for selecting the wxPython version to use
Interesting - well, this is odd: "Looking for python2.6..." that's in the middle of the other calls to python 2.7.12.
Sorry, not being much help, haven't used playonlinux in years and then it just worked. Guessing playonlinux was installed via the Lubuntu repositories using synaptic or whatever Lubuntu uses?
If I remember correctly, playonlinux installs wine each time you install a game, depending on what wine version the game requires. You will/may have multiple wine installs if you have multiple games installed, and each requiring a different wine version.
Apologize for not being able to help - maybe you can start fresh and uninstall, reinstall, then back up your ".playonlinux" directory (if that is the name), delete the existing ".playonlinux" directory and see if you get the same error when you start playonlinux again.
In the meantime I looked up /var/cache/apt/archives. Neither wine nor playonlinux is located there.
I guess if I had installed either of them via apt-get install or synapticthere should be a respective .deb-entry there.
As far as games are concerned I havenīt installed a single one up and until now.
Itīs just now that I wanted to do this. So I really should have just one single wine-install.
If your distribution is not supported, you can get a generic package [3]. Unpack the package with
$ tar xvf PlayOnLinux_4.2.X.tar.gz
From the command line, cd into the playonlinux/ directory, and run the program by typing
$ ./playonlinux
on the command line.
Regardless of how you install PlayOnLinux, when you run the software for the first time, the installer will search for a working version of Python and, after a few seconds, bring up the PlayOnLinux main window
Yet the result was the same. I got the same terminal-message.
Yet for what itīs worth at least I can be sure now that itīs a matter of python.
But I donīt know why my installed python-versions arenīt good enough for playonlinux.
Perhaps I would need an older one to work with it....
