No reason why it shouldn't... have you configured yum yet? if so you can easily install it with

# yum -y install mplayer

also check out the mplayer page for the codecs you need to be able to view the different video formats.

Mplayer works fine for Fedora. I don't know if there is a .rpm for FC4 yet. If not, compile it from source. You'll need to have gcc and related files installed. Read the instructions first. You'll need to unpack the codecs first.

Looks like Mplayers server has had a crash. You might need to wait a couple days.

On FC4 and other Gnome 2.10 desktops there is Totem which uses some of the same technology as Xine and which the Gnome developers, biased though they may be, claim runs better than Xine.

Hi,

It seems that my mother board does not support mplayer. Similar problem occured to one of my friends. He too has the same motherboard as mine. (ASUS A7V8X) . I searched for xine and kaffeine in freshrpms.net but could not get the exact ones. Can anyone give the link for kaffeine tarballs or rpms.

THANK YOU .

Have you tried installing mplayer on your FC4 system? I don't use FC4 but I believe it uses YUM... from a root terminal:

# yum install mplayer

Don't know what makes you think your MB does not support it... Are you having other sound issues?

KC
