Angry Playing Sims 3 &Origin Account on Linux Mint?

Okay. Let me try and give you as much information as possible.

I Am running Linux Mint 18 (Sarah) and I just downloaded it last night. For the most part I really like it and its very crisp and precise.

However, I have several Windows games connected to an origin account that I cannot access.

Anyone else have this problem? I am very new to Linux and the person that helped me install this has absolutely NO idea how to help me.

This is a 64 bit Dell computer AMD processor, I believe. I have YouTubed and Googled until I'm about to pull my hair out.

WHAT DO I DO?

This problem is almost making me miss my Windows 10...
.....almost.

Thank you! You can also e-mail me at stephanie111489@gmail.com

Hi Stephanie, welcome to the forum

Just as a heads up, you might want to remove your email address from your post lest your email inbox ends up with a boatload of SPAM in the very near future.

I'm not familiar with Origin but games that are written for Windows don't normally run in Linux. Ideally, for Windows games, you should dual boot both Windows and Linux. Did you completely remove your Windows restore partition? If so, you can see if PlayOnLinux will run the game, although I can't guarantee it will work. You can find a guide for this here. You should be able to install PlayOnLinux using Mint's package manager. However, I would encourage you to check with EU to make sure that playing the game using an emulator will not violate EU's Sims 3 or Origin EULA. Unless I missed something, I looked through the Origin EULA here and didn't find anything that expressly forbids it. I also found additional information concerning the game using Wine here.

If you still have the Windows 10 restore partition, I would reinstall Windows 10 and then reinstall Mint in a dual boot configuration. That will make everything a lot easier.

Regards...

Well, to remove your email address, just click "Edit" and remove the information in question and then click "Save."

Perhaps your friend can help you with PlayOnLinux and installing Origin on it.

If you want to reinstall Windows 10, if your friend can't help you, I would suggest taking it to a reputable repair technician or computer repair shop where you live.

Regards...
