Playing Mp3 Files In Linux

Sir, I need to know what are the players that can be used in LINUX (FEDORA CORE), for playing mp3 files.

Also please suggest the sites where they can be downloaded freely.

a lot: for example - xmms, rhytmbox, amarok, audacious - you'll need to install the appropriate codecs to enable mp3 playback

e.g

Quote:

yum install xmms xmms-mp3
and then in xmms:
1. Options => Preferences => Audio I/O Plugins
2. Select "MPEG Layer 1/2/3 Placeholder Plugin" and uncheck [ ] Enable Plugin
3. restart xmms

you should hear your favourite mp3:)

check google there's a LOT about multimedia and fedora

If you want mp3 to play straight from the box, use Ubuntu or Mepis

Better idea- convert all your MP3s to OGG. :)

Yes, actually converting them to ogg is the best idea:)
