PL newbie questions

Greetings All,

This is my first post and I'm a PL newbie. My friend has been using it for a while and thinks it's great so I decided to give it a try. Personally, I have dabbled with any Linux distros since Mandrake ???

1) I understand that it's possible to boot PL from a USB. Is it simply a matter of changing the boot settings in CMOS to seek out the USB memory stick first?

2) Will I be able to boot PL simply by extracting the .ISO to the USB memory stick?

3) How do I save bookmarks so that they'll be loaded every time I boot live? Does PL simply save a file to the USB that is sought out and imported every time I boot up?

Thanks in advance,
- Bodrey

Question

Yes - PL is Puppy Linux. I don't know what you mean by additional info(?) I want to boot PL live from either a USB stick or a CD and be able to have my bookmarks, etc load. There must be a way to do this.

By more info I mean do you wanna boot from a fat32 usb using syslinux or do you wanna boot from a ext2 or ext3 usb using grub?
I mean what kind of computer do you have/doing this from?

assumming it's a fat32 usb, you gotta set bootflag active, install syslinux to usb, then copy contents of iso to usb, edit and rename isolinux.cfg to syslinux.cfg.
