Post ping two server


Hi,

I am having two server, one is redhat 6 32 bits and other is centos 5.x 32 bits. I am not able to ping another server that is from centos to redhat or redhat to centos.

I have update the Host name in both the server. Now can u please tell me what other thing i need to update

Can you ping the other sites eq www.google.com ?

I am using the 192.168.x.x i am able to ping the host...


Can u please tell me how can i ping the two server. I have confirgured same in VM ware machine and using the NAT

You have configured NAT, but internally VMware may have assigned both machines with different networks. So you maynot able to ping each other.

Try the host-only configuration, which will keep all the vm machines in a single network. Then you may able to ping each other.

As dvyashree said, Just change your NAT style to Host Only type.
