Pidgin how to add display picture.


Hi,

I am using MSN on/with pidgin, I need to add display picture.
Is that possible?
If yes, how?

Click the "Accounts" item on the menu bar, choose the relevant account and then "Edit account".

Something is wrong when a user has to ask on a forum how to add a display picture! I'm going to contact the Pidgin developers and tell them about this.

hmmmmmm

yeah It can me made more user-friendly. I use FC as my primary OS on my work machine. And I don't want to spend time looking around from things like putting pic up on. pidGin.(of course its not work-related)

just out of curiosity, what service are you using for pidgin? if it's MSN, i've found AMSN to be a much better replication of the service than pidgin was. i still use pidgin for my aim and yahoo needs though.

I know, some time around 2001-03 I used amsn, it was nice even then. I thought it was no more. I just assumed.
Podgin amazing tough for msn/yahoo/same-time.

Hi
I use to use RH7 a while back and I had GAIM now that I'm running FC10 I see we have pidgin...did GAIM become pidgin... I did a few searches through Google...but didn't have enough time to really dig into it....just wanted to know if anyone new the history of this.

Yes, Gaim became Pidgin. There were legal issues with AIM (AOL's Instant Messenger), so they had to change the name.
