Pictures show on camera but wont show on laptop

They show perfectly on the camera with the memory card in it but when i try connecting the camera to the laptop or taking out the memory card and putting it into the laptop,i dont seee any images on the memory card and when i do see images they are corrupt! can someone help me to save my corrupt pictures? is there any way of fixing them?

Some information on the hardware you are using would be useful as would the distribution of Linux you are using if, in fact, you are using Linux. Also what software are you using to try to view your pictures and what format are they?

Did it ever work correctly with linux?

My guess is that the files are in a non-standard format. In some cases you can select how the camera saves images.

Guess the flash or reader could be bad and all you see on the camera is thumbnails.

You could see what Photorec is able to pull off from your card. I managed to rectify a similar issue recently...
