Hi Alxbob,

I'm afraid I have no experience with Motioneye cameras... but networking!

SAMBA is used to browse what's known as SMB networks... Microsoft use SMB as the protocol to share files/folders/printers, etc over a network. If you want to share files/folders *from* a Linux machine, then you need to use Samba. If you want your Linux machine to connect *to* shares on a Windows machine, then you need Samba. If, however, you are looking to share files between to Linux machines, then you do not *need* Samba. NFS (the Network FileSystem) works fantastically. If you take a look at The Linux Documentation Project (www.tldp.org) there are some good "HowTos" on setting up NFS on Linux machines.

Good luck.
