php in Red hat linux


Hi,

iam new to linux. iam going to work on online portal develope in PHP in red hat linux OS. iam new to this PHP & LINUX so now i want to install red hat linux and php and apache in my laptop and started to work on it. please help me where to start.

well install linux first, that's a good starting point. During the installation process ensure that you also check you want to install php and apache.

Thanks chris,

Is the php and apache, postgresql are all inbuilt in which linux.or i have to install them separately.

It should ask you if you want to install them; most modern distros come with pkg (software) managers that you can run from the GUI/Desktop. Just let us know which distro you've chosen and you'll get more specific help.
If this is for a job, prob best to choose the same one as you have at work.

yes chris, this is mainly for job. They give the requirements PHP,APACHE,POSTGRESQL in RED HAT LINUX. so i have to google it and learn it ad i want to develope. for using these applications in linux, i need some basic knowledge about linux and how to work in linux. so can u guide me and if possible can u send some links regarding this.
