phatLinux/Win2k compatibility

just gettting into the open source habitat and I'm wondering...
does anyone have an opinion on phatLinux? i thought about giving it a try before I put a partition in....but I don't see docs anywhere on the phatlinux indicating it's compatibility with win2kPro.

i love camelCase, and pork rolls, egg, and cheese.

Haven't ever used Phat Linux, but there are some general rules on any Linux installation. You should be able to get Phat on there but if you are truely new you may want to try either Mandrake, SUSE or Red Hat for your first time.

Just a suggestion. :)

re:phat

thx for the reply.

i actually decided to just take the plunge and got SuSE - the whole process (especially the auto-partition) was totally painless (although i feel like a bit of a wuss) as was the hardware config.

i'm a convert, linux is definitely phat and i'm drooling over learning a fraction of the capabilities in the SuSE distribution.

Glad that you have decided to make the plunge!

I actually started with SUSE, and have tried so many different 'flavours' that I have finally settled on one which I really like. But migrating between distros aint too hard if you don't like the one you've got. :)
