personal settings question

Hey, I had a question, I am going to upgrade my distro but want to make sure that I maintain most, if not all of my personal settings. To do this I should make a copy of my /home directory right? Is there anyother files that I should back up before I do this?
Thanks,
Travis

Most per user settings are kept in the /home/$username directory, if you are planning an upgrade to a newer version of the same distro you will usually find an upgrade install option that leaves your previous settings intact.

Its a very good idea to keep /home on a seperate partition so it can survive a wipe of the rest of the system.
