permission denied, uploading to folder /etc/php.ini

hi everyone,
im a bit of newbie, i have made some changes to my php.ini which i had downloaded using my root user and pass, the root access allows me to download data but not upload data.
i get an error stating permission denied when i try to upload this file(php.ini).

pls help if u can

which folder are you trying to upload into?

hi vwvr9, thx for the reply. i am trying to upload to /etc/ folder, so i can upload the php.ini again using my root user information..

i get this error:

hmm, can you ssh into the box?

If you can login and sudo / su to root and head to /etc/

vi php.ini to edit or create a new file
