i have this error on my server ( debian lenny)

Basically one of the capabilities commonly only assigned to root processes, see 'man capabilities'. Knowing the error message is nice but for troubleshooting purposes it would be more interesting how you encountered it (I mean: doing what exactly)...

thank u for your attention,
i sometimes get this error while installing drbd8-utils and drbd8-source and sometimes when i'm testing installed drbd ,.
i think it's kernel bug.am i wright?

I don't know what causes this in your case as you have not posted any specific commands but it's not a kernel bug. Capabilities are at the core of Discretionary Access Control or DAC for short, the compartmentalization features that separate UID==0 from other users.

i get this error in two situation(for info : i use two virtual server for failover)

1- apt-get install drbd8-utils drbd8-source
2- after installing pacemaker and config for drbd
restarting server may help... here is my config

i solved the problem by compiling DRBD from source. no more CAP_SYS_ADMIN error....
